LEXINGTON — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) Carrier Enforcement Division conducted local commercial vehicle inspections this week. These truck inspections were held on Wednesday, Sept. 9 in Lincoln County and on Thursday, Sept. 10 in Dawson County.
During this effort, the Metropolitan Aggressive and Prevention Selective (MAPS) Team conducted a total of 42 vehicle inspections. Troopers discovered 163 violations of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and state law. Troopers placed 13 vehicles out of service (not allowed to return to the road). Additionally, troopers placed 5 drivers out of service.
Vehicles are placed out of service for a variety of reasons relating to bad brakes or tires, or other problems that pose immediate safety risks. Troopers issued a total of 21 citations during the inspections…
