Lincoln, NE — Constitution Week is being marked in Lincoln with a focus on helping students understand how the nation’s founding document still affects their lives today.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln sent law students to visit Lincoln middle schools to teach students about the U.S. Constitution. Law student Paul Pechous told students the Constitution remains central to American government.
“What we talked about in class today was how the constitution is this living document that is much older than all of us. Since the nations founding 250 years ago we are generally using the same document to govern us and thinking about how we can protect our own right so making sure students understand that and how they can be apart of their government I think is really important,” Pechous said…
