More than 50 events across Lincoln from cultural festivals to storytelling forums are taking place through the end of September as part of the city’s Welcoming Week celebration.
The aim is to celebrate and embrace new citizens. This years’ theme – “Stories We Share: The Courage to Connect” – asks people to share and listen to each other’s stories to bring awareness. Lincoln and Lancaster County’s New Americans Task Force (NATF) is also using the week to highlight a newly released survey that shows the needs and opportunities for immigrants and refugees.
