Pioneers Park Nature Center will offer two guided evening walks this fall, giving visitors a chance to explore the park’s natural areas after sunset. Nature Center Coordinator Jamie Kelley said the Twilight Treks allow participants to experience the prairie differently as nocturnal wildlife becomes active.
The first walk will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the Nature Center, 3201 S. Coddington Ave. The event coincides with the autumnal equinox and will focus on seasonal changes and how wildlife responds to shorter days and cooler nights.
A second trek is scheduled from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. That walk will highlight the sights and sounds of autumn and nighttime activity in the park…
