Man accused of stealing thousands in lottery tickets from Lincoln gas station

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln gas station employee accused of stealing lottery tickets from his workplace over the course of several months made his first court appearance on Tuesday.

Malik Gibbs, 30, is charged with theft by unlawful taking of more than $5,000 in Lancaster County Court. His bond was set at 10% of $25,000.

On May 8, a Nebraska Department of Revenue investigator and a deputy state sheriff were alerted to a possible theft of Nebraska Lottery tickets at Maverik, a gas station and convenience store near Southwest 48th and West O streets…
