Active Weather Pattern This Weekend over Eastern Nebraska with Severe Weather Threat

LINCOLN–(KFOR May 15)–From Friday afternoon through Monday, there will be an active weather pattern over eastern Nebraska, which could lead to rounds of showers and thunderstorms, which at times, especially in the afternoon and evening hours, have the potential to be severe.

Lincoln and much of eastern Nebraska are under a slight risk of severe weather Friday and Saturday, while the weekend could very active, too. Enhanced risks of severe weather loom over the same area on Sunday and Monday. Thunderstorms are possible late Friday afternoon and evening in mainly southeastern Nebraska and northeastern Kansas. There is a marginal to slight risk for severe weather and that means isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are possible. Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats. The tornado threat remains very low.

For Saturday, showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop mid-Saturday afternoon and continue into the evening before moving out late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. There is a slight risk for severe weather across much of Nebraska with scattered severe thunderstorms possible. Large hail and damaging winds remain the primary threats.
