YELL COUNTY, Ark. — A fallen Arkansas sailor killed at Pearl Harbor was finally laid to rest Saturday, more than 80 years after his death.
Royle Bradford Luker, a 17-year-old Navy Fireman Third Class from North Little Rock, was killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. His remains were recently identified through advances in DNA technology and efforts by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.
Hundreds of veterans, Patriot Guard Riders, and community members attended Saturday’s service to honor Luker’s sacrifice and welcome him home. Military honors were rendered, including the playing of “Taps.”…
