Even though a heat advisory is in effect for portions of our region today, the National Weather Service has a long-term forecast of somewhat cooler than average temperatures coming our way next week.
This afternoon, all of southeast Missouri and the Mississippi River counties of Kentucky and Illinois are experiencing heat indices up to 105. Similar triple-digit heat and humidity will remain through at least Thursday, to brew up another chance of storms on Friday.
