Regulators approve $2.6 billion power plant for Newark

State regulators have approved plans for a $2.6 billion natural gas-fired power plant in Newark that will help supply electricity to approximately 1.3 million Arkansans.

The Arkansas Public Service Commission approved the 1,499-megawatt facility, known as IGP 3-6, on Monday.
