South Arkansas in for stormy Friday

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has placed the southern half of Arkansas in a Marginal (1 out of 5) Risk for severe weather on Friday, June 19.

The Arkadelphia area is included in the area. The main risk with this system will be isolated gusty winds in a decaying cluster of storms as it pushes east across the state late Friday morning into Friday afternoon.

Arkadelphia’s official forecast says showers and thunderstorms will be likely, mainly before 4 p.m. under otherwise mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 82 and a northeast wind around 5 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts will be between 1/10 and 1/4 inch, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms…
