Fulton, Izard counties awarded nearly $500k in state water funds

Conservation districts in Fulton and Izard counties will receive nearly $500,000 combined through a federal grant program aimed at improving water quality across Arkansas.

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture announced it has been awarded $3.175 million through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2026 Clean Water Act Section 319(h) Grant Program to support projects that reduce nonpoint source pollution in streams, rivers and lakes throughout the state.

The Fulton County Conservation District will receive $348,664 to help landowners implement best management practices, establish vegetative cover and protect riparian areas along waterways…
