LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- The University of Arkansas Board of Trustee’s unanimously approved University of Arkansas for Medical Science’s plan to take over Encore Medical Center from Arkansas Heart Hospital at a board meeting Wednesday morning.
The $5,000,000 deal includes an annual rent payment of $8,159,515 to the Landes Group, a real estate investment firm based out of Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Lowry Barnes, the Chancellor of UAMS, says this will be the first time UAMS has had an in-patient healthcare facility outside of Little Rock.
