Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders orders flags to half-staff in honor of Marked Tree police officer killed in line of duty

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The death of a Marked Tree Police Department officer on Sunday while on duty has led to Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders ordering all flags to half-staff.

The order calls for both the U.S. and the Arkansas flags to fly at half-staff between sunrise and sunset on the day of 25-year-old Officer Trevor Howard’s interment. That date has not yet been announced.

Marked Tree police officer killed in Sunday morning crash while on duty

Howard was a passenger in a Dodge pickup driven by 22-year-old Officer Anthony Johnson when it was struck on the right side at an intersection, causing it to roll over. Johnson and the driver of the car that allegedly hit the truck, Kareem Jones of Marked Tree, were injured in the crash and hospitalized.
