Little Rock, Ark. — Cities across Central Arkansas have opened cooling centers for those seeking relief during the extreme summer heat.
The City of Little Rock operates three shelters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Little Rock:
- Dunbar Community Center, 1001 W. 16th Street
- Southwest Community Center, 6401 Baseline Road
- West Central Community Center, 8616 Colonel Glenn Road
The city of North Little Rock has also opened its community center as a cooling shelter. The center is open from noon until close.
North Little Rock:
- North Little Rock Community Center, 2700 Willow Street
