LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — This year marks the 30th anniversary of Little Rock’s River Market, a development many credit with transforming a once-struggling section of downtown into one of Arkansas’ most popular destinations.
When the River Market opened in 1996, it represented years of planning and collaboration between city leaders and private developers who envisioned breathing new life into an area filled with vacant buildings and underused streets.
