North Little Rock warns residents of permit fee e-mail scam

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — City officials are warning residents and businesses about a fraudulent email circulating that falsely claims to be from the city’s planning department and requests payment for permit-related fees.

According to the City of North Little Rock, the email impersonates a planning director and instructs recipients to reply in order to receive wire transfer instructions for alleged permit fees. The message includes charges described as “expert reviews,” “contract staff” and other approval-related costs.

City officials said the email is not affiliated with any North Little Rock department and that the fees referenced in the message are fraudulent…
