The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is urging residents not to attempt to treat wild deer for parasites or suspected cases of New World screwworm, warning that do-it-yourself treatments can do more harm than good.
The agency said people who see deer or other wildlife with signs of disease or parasite infestations should report them to the AGFC Wildlife Health Hotline instead of trying to administer medications intended for livestock.
