Timbo, Rural Special detachments included in new state education funding rule

The Arkansas State Board of Education approved a permanent rule Thursday setting how state funding will work when isolated schools separate from their parent districts, a decision tied to the upcoming detachments of Timbo and Rural Special from the Mountain View School District.

The rule makes about $2 million available to help parent districts that lose campuses through detachment. It replaces an emergency rule approved in June but still requires final approval from state lawmakers…
