Family recounts evacuation during Bryant hotel fire

BRYANT, Ark. – On Monday the Bryant Fire Department was still investigating the cause of a fire the broke out and spread on all four floors of the La Quinta Inn & Suites.

Some of the guests at the hotel at the time of the fire were Jasmine Brown and her family, Brown described the moments that led up to their evacuation.

“We could smell like through the walls, but we didn’t see it. And so all of a sudden the fire alarm went off and there was water trickling down from the sprinklers. It was water trickling down in our room. Our light fixture was filling up with water. So I was like, ‘well, I don’t know, we gotta get up out of here,’” Brown said.
