4-year-old recovering after rescued by lifeguards, first responders

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) – 4-year-old Levi Shoemaker is recovering in a Little Rock hospital after being pulled from a Springdale swimming pool, unconscious and not breathing.

Levi’s family says he could be released as early as Tuesday. He was flown to Little Rock after lifeguards led a rescue at the Springdale Aquatic Center pool and resuscitated him using CPR.

Levi was attending a private party, after hours, at the city aquatic center when the first call came into 911 at around 9:30pm Saturday night. Emergency communications revealed Levi was not breathing while police officers, firefighters, and paramedics were dispatched.
