SALINE COUNTY, Ark. – Saline County authorities announced a drug bust last week, but the original post drew questions from commenters and a further explanation from authorities.
Authorities said in a July 28 post that Saline County Sheriff’s Office deputies performed a traffic stop on a car without insurance. During the stop, deputies allegedly smelled marijuana and subsequently searched the vehicle, finding more than 2,800 grams of marijuana, 36 grams of ecstasy pills, around $3,000 and additional drug-related paraphernalia.
On Monday, Aug. 3, SCSO officials made a follow-up post addressing the AI usage, stating that AI was used on the image, but only to “clean up the background of the photo because it was taken in our patrol room.”
“We are sorry for making anyone think anything other than what was intended,” authorities wrote. “The drugs, guns, drug paraphernalia, and money are all real.”
