Little Rock micro home village moves forward as city faces housing crisis

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — As Little Rock leaders work to address a growing housing shortage, construction is moving forward on the city’s Micro Home Village — a project designed to help people transition out of homelessness and into permanent housing.

The project, first announced in 2023, comes as the city faces increasing pressure after the Little Rock Board of Directors declared a housing crisis last month, citing rising evictions, limited affordable housing, and a growing gap between housing costs and income.

Kevin Howard, Director of the Department of Housing and Neighborhood Programs, says Little Rock is facing the same housing challenges seen across the country.
