Family searching for answers after North Little Rock woman missing more than a month

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A North Little Rock family is pleading for answers after Virginia Jennie Hughey disappeared more than a month ago, with family members telling police April 6, 2026, was the last time anyone heard from her.

According to the North Little Rock Police Department and its communications division, an internal BOLO, or “be on the lookout” alert, has been issued to officers. Police said a detective assigned to adult missing persons cases in North Little Rock is actively investigating the case.

However, a public missing person BOLO had not been issued as of Monday evening.

When asked why a public alert had not been released, a department spokesperson said in part, “That could change later today or in the coming days if she is not located by Detective Brown, patrol officers, or another law enforcement agency.”…
