Entergy, CAW, local officials answer concerns surrounding Little Rock data centers

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — Growing questions surrounding two large-scale data centers being developed in the Little Rock metro area prompted the Little Rock Regional Chamber, local utilities, and city and county officials to hold a press conference today, addressing community concerns and combatting misinformation.

There are two data centers being developed: a $1 billion Google data center at the Port of Little Rock, and a $6 billion data center by a company called AVAIO near Wrightsville. Respectively, they are the largest investments in Little Rock’s history and the largest in state history.

But data centers have gotten a bad rap nationwide for their immense power usage, water usage, noise, and other factors associated with them, so, in an effort to get out ahead of rumors and fears, officials are directly addressing them…
