According to the Denver Police Department, officers responded to the 3200 block of North Brighton Boulevard and found one victim, who was taken to a local hospital. Investigators are “working to develop suspect information,” and the department has said it will post further updates to its account when new details are available. Police have not released the victim’s condition or any suspect description.

Local disruptions and response

Residents near 29th Avenue and North Brighton Boulevard were briefly told to shelter in place, and a nearby light-rail station was temporarily closed while officers worked the scene, according to CBS News Colorado. RTD service resumed after authorities cleared the area, and investigators continued processing the scene.
