NEWPORT BEACH, CA – A child exploitation investigation conducted by the Newport Beach Police Department has resulted in a sentence of 25 years to life in state prison for a local man.
David Hanggie received the sentence on Monday, May 18, 2026, after accepting a court offer related to the case. Hanggie had been initially arrested by authorities in 2025 on charges of child annoyance involving grooming behavior.
