DA Hochman Faces Tough Questions at South L.A. Town Hall Amid Community Concerns Over Justice, Public Safety

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman defended his office’s handling of officer-involved shootings, public corruption cases, gang enhancements, and other criminal justice issues during a town hall meeting hosted by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s African American Advisory Board on June 1 at Dorsey High School.

The forum, organized to strengthen communication between the District Attorney’s Office and residents, drew a large crowd of community members, elected officials, activists, victims’ families, and advocates from across South Los Angeles.

“This is an opportunity for the community to hear directly from the district attorney and voice concerns,” said Jasmyne Cannick, chair of the African American Advisory Board. “The board exists to advise the D.A. on criminal justice policies, community trust, and racial disparities while ensuring the concerns of Black residents are heard.”…
