Property Owners Face July 1 Deadline To Avoid Tax Penalties

LOS ANGELES – The County is putting property owners with unpaid 2025-26 tax bills on notice: pay by July 1 or face a new round of penalties.

The Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector’s Office has mailed delinquency notices to property owners who have not paid their annual secured property taxes. The notices include payment information, office locations, and service hours.

After July 1, unpaid taxes will become delinquent and go into default. The county will then impose a $15 redemption fee, plus additional penalties of 1.5% per month on the defaulted taxes…
