Carlos Mencia Arrested and Charged With 12 Felony Tax Counts in Los Angeles

Carlos Mencia has been arrested and charged with 12 felony tax counts in Los Angeles after prosecutors accused him of failing to report millions of dollars in income.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday, June 18, that the comedian allegedly failed to report $8.7 million in personal and corporate income between tax years 2019 and 2024.

If convicted as charged, Mencia could face up to 11 years and four months in state prison.

Mencia Was Charged With 12 Felony Counts

Mencia, whose legal name is Ned Arnel Holness, was charged in case 26VWCF01161 with six felony counts of failure to file personal income tax returns with intent to evade tax and six felony counts of failure to file corporate income tax returns with intent to evade tax.
