A stretch of scorching summer weather is fueling wildfire concerns across Southern California as firefighters battle a series of brush fires that have erupted across the region in recent days.
Temperatures between 90 and 100 degrees were expected across much of the region Sunday, with a heat advisory remaining in effect until 8 p.m. for portions of Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
The National Weather Service warned that the hot temperatures could cause heat-related illnesses and urged residents to stay hydrated, avoid the sun when possible and limit strenuous outdoor activities to the morning or evening.
