Woman rescued after 40-foot fall from bridge into LA River in Boyle Heights, firefighters say

Firefighters rushed to rescue a woman who fell about 40 feet from a bridge into the L.A. River on Saturday.

The fall was reported at 1:24 p.m. Saturday at 2750 E. Washington Blvd., east of Soto Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jamie Stewart.

“LAFD Air Operations is performing a hoisting operation and will be transporting the patient for further medical care at a local hospital,” Stewart said…
