LOS ANGELES – For more than a decade after giving birth at UCLA Medical Center, a 47-year-old woman says she lived with unexplained pain during intimacy and while using the restroom. She says the cause was eventually found inside her body: a surgical needle allegedly left behind during her 2012 delivery.
The woman is suing the University of California Regents for medical malpractice, alleging UCLA not only left the needle inside her but knew an instrument was missing and failed to find it.
