A Los Angeles man accused of fatally shooting a Culver CityBus driver after asking to get off the bus has been charged with murder, prosecutors announced Wednesday.
Jose Antonio Zayas, 55, was charged with one count of murder with the special circumstance allegation of murder of transportation personnel, as well as an allegation that he personally used a firearm, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He also faces one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The charges stem from the Oct. 1 killing of 42-year-old bus driver Bruce Rodriguez.
