Torrance bus passenger attacked for calling out fellow passenger for smoking

Just before dusk on Saint Patrick’s Day, Christopher Davis says he was attacked after asking another passenger to stop lighting up a joint on the Torrance Transit number 8 bus .

Davis told KNX News’ Jon Baird it was apparent something was about to go wrong before the violence started.

“I remember what the young lady sitting next to him said, ‘Do you see that fanny pack he got on? Do you know who he is? Do you know what he’s got in that fanny pack?'” Davis recalled.

So he asked the bus driver to do something; “I said this isn’t going well. Can you call the police, or can you help to diffuse this?”

But according to Davis, the driver just hit the gas, and the man with the marijuana and a bunch of other people on the bus started beating him up.

“It was like five or six of them. They all grabbed me and started punching and throwing down faster than I could react,” Davis said.
