Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran, a Los Angeles County coroner who conducted countless death investigations for celebrities and led the coroner’s office through numerous mass-causality events, has died, law enforcement sources told NBC4 Investigates Tuesday.
The LA County Medical Examiner’s office also confirmed his death, calling him a “kind, caring and passionate person with a great memory and sense of humor.”
“In his more than 30-year tenure with the County, Dr. Lakshmanan led numerous modernization projects, including upgrading of Department computers, digitizing case files, and the expansion of the Department into the three buildings currently occupied,” the coroner’s office told NBC Los Angeles in a statement…
