King Taco’s original location may get historical landmark status

King Taco is inching closer to being cemented into Los Angeles history.

The Los Angeles City Council Planning and Land Use Management (PLUM) Committee voted unanimously to designate the original location in Cypress Park as a historic landmark. The food chain, which has more than a dozen locations across the Southland, opened its first restaurant in 1974.

Cypress Park locals said the designation is long overdue…
