LOS ANGELES – A 24-year-old man serving a robbery sentence walked away from a Los Angeles reentry program Sunday after removing his GPS monitor, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Jose Barrios was discovered missing around 2:30 p.m. April 26, when officials found he had removed his GPS device, CDCR said. Officials launched a search, conducted an emergency count at the Male Community Reentry Program, and confirmed Barrios was missing.CDCR said Barrios may have left the area in a white vehicle. The agency’s Office of Correctional Safety and local law enforcement are assisting in the search.Barrios is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 157 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
