SANTA MONICA – Drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians traveling along Broadway in Santa Monica are seeing a series of new street changes aimed at improving safety and connectivity along the corridor.
According to the City of Santa Monica, the Broadway corridor will include protected bike lanes, pedestrian beacons, bike-and-bus-only upgrades, and traffic-calming treatments once the work is complete.
The city said cyclists should wait directly over bike stencils painted on the pavement in designated detection zones to get a green signal. Cyclists may also cross with a pedestrian walk signal unless a bike signal is present…
