Inglewood City Council approves contract with LA County Sheriff’s Department to aid city police during mega-events

Inglewood has extended its mega-event security contract with the LA County Sheriff’s Department by two years and up to $16.6 million.

Inglewood City Council approved the agreement 4-0 on Tuesday, which gives Inglewood police the option to call on extra hands from the sheriff’s department for events including the back half of the FIFA World Cup and the 2027 Super Bowl. District 4 Councilmember Dionne Faulk was absent from the meeting.
