Person injured in shooting near World Cup watch party in Koreatown, LAPD says

A person was arrested in connection with a shooting in Koreatown Thursday evening near where a large watch party was taking place for the World Cup game between Mexico and South Korea, police said.

The Los Angeles Police Department said it received reports about a person shooting into the air near Irolo Street and James M Wood Boulevard around 6:40 p.m. Shortly after, police say they received more calls about a person who got into a fight with a group near James M Wood Boulevard and Normandie Avenue.

The suspect then fired rounds at a person, who was taken to the hospital and remained in stable condition, according to the LAPD…
