Homeless man blamed for dangerous fire between Sherman Oaks homes

A 13-year-old is being credited with helping save his family’s Sherman Oaks home after waking to the sound of a brush fire burning just outside in the middle of the night.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. Saturday in the 14000 block of Hesby Street after surveillance cameras captured a man, believed by neighbors to be a transient, in a front yard before the brush ignited.

The man was seen leaving as the flames began spreading between two homes…
