Farmers market produce boxes can be delivered to your home and paid for with food stamps

LOS ANGELES — Two farmers’ markets in Los Angeles are now offering CSA boxes, which are boxes of fresh produce, packaged and delivered to your home — and can be paid for using food stamps.

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, usually done in partnership directly with a farm, where in-season produce gets packed into boxes and delivered to the customer’s home once a week. Through Food Access LA, that same process can now be done through the farmers’ market to shoppers in the Atwater Village and Crenshaw farmers’ markets.

Starting at $50 a box, which can be paid for using food stamps, customers can log on and create a profile with their desired produce choices…
