Two women have been detained on suspicion of burglary and organized retail theft, authorities reported over the weekend.
On June 17, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported an alleged theft at a business in the 78000 block of Highway 111 in La Quinta. Members of the Thermal Sheriff’s Station La Quinta Business District team took over the investigation.
The accused were identified as Geradin Gonzalez Morales, 33, of Van Nuys and Johana Catalina Vargas Rodriguez, 32, of North Hollywood. They are also suspected of stealing from stores in Indio, Palm Springs, La Quinta, Palm Desert, and Beaumont, totaling around $16,000 in products, according to the sheriff’s department…
