Los Angeles City Attorney Hydee Feldstein-Soto announced Wednesday that her office is suing a landlord who allegedly bought a property and, just five days later, demanded all the tenants move out “in an effort to obtain higher rents.”
A complaint included in the announcement identifies the main defendant as Femi G. Olanipekun and lists the property as an eight-unit apartment complex with four units at 4301-4303 ½ Woodlawn Avenue and four other units at 120 East 43rd Street. The property in question is on the corner of Woodlawn and East 43rd in the Historic South-Central neighborhood and, according to satellite imagery, contains two separate structures.
Per the complaint, Olanipekun purchased the property on Oct. 29, 2025, and five days later, demanded all tenants surrender their units no later than March 2026. He served “at least five rental units” with written eviction notices, the complaint states…
