Triple-Digit Heat Possible as Southern California Heat Wave Builds

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A major heat wave will begin developing Tuesday across Southern California and is expected to peak Friday and over the weekend, bringing potentially dangerous temperatures.

The mercury was expected to rise sharply Tuesday in Los Angeles County, with highs generally 5 to 10 degrees warmer than Monday and some locations warming by as much as 15 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
