Family desperate to find girl, 12, missing in L.A. County

Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are asking for the public’s help locating an at-risk 12-year-old girl who went missing out of Palmdale.

Hawaii Mcarthur was last seen around 8 p.m. on April 19 in the 40300 block of Preston Road, according to an LASD missing persons bulletin.

Mcarthur is described as a Black female standing 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair typically worn in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing a black shirt with the phrase “move the mindset to call to this call,” gray jeans and white Nike Air Force shoes. Investigators said she was also carrying a pink-and-black backpack.

Authorities did not indicate whether Mcarthur suffers from any physical or mental conditions, saying only that her family is concerned for her well-being.
