A crash in South Los Angeles’ Westmont neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon left one person dead and two others hospitalized, authorities said, turning a busy intersection into a grim crime scene and grinding traffic to a halt.
Emergency crews converged on the intersection of West 96th Street and South Vermont Avenue, where the collision blocked the roadway and drew a heavy first responder presence. Investigators said the cause of the crash was still under review as of Tuesday evening.
