Reward climbs to $30,000 in Sammie animal cruelty case

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The reward for information leading to an arrest in a Louisville animal cruelty case has grown to $30,000 as investigators continue searching for the person responsible for abandoning an injured dog inside a garbage bag.

The case dates back to April 28, when a groundskeeper at Iroquois Golf Course reported hearing an animal crying. According to investigators, the worker found a husky later named Sammie inside a garbage bag.

Authorities said the dog was severely injured and had twine wrapped around her snout. Sammie suffered a broken neck and, despite efforts to help her, was later euthanized due to the extent of her injuries…
