Pilot project aims to bring fresh produce to Louisville food deserts

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Several organizations are partnering to ensure that everyone in the metro has access to fresh food. How they’re doing this: encouraging people to apply to install gardens on their properties.

The project is called the Louisville Urban Farm Exchange, and it allows people to apply to have a hybrid hydroponic garden put in on their property, meaning it has some aspects of a garden with soil and some aspects of one without it.
