FRANKFORT, Ky. — The state plans to spend $5.5 million to repair or replace 10 bridges across eight Kentucky counties and two cities. Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky., said the improvements will reconnect and restore safe traffic flow on routes that were previously closed or had weight restrictions.
“These bridges are about more than just infrastructure; they’re about the people they connect and the opportunities they create,” said Beshear. “By investing in these improvements, we are boosting commerce, tourism and job creation in these communities for generations to come.”
The money is part of Team Kentucky’s County and City Bridge Improvement Program that gives $25 million annually to local governments. The program started in 2025 and according to Beshear’s office, money has been given to 43 counties and 11 cities…
